Avoid Scam Emails

Facebook Post 940x788 px (11)
We've recently been receiving a number of calls about scam emails that appear to come from MHTC. These emails are not from MHTC and may attempt to trick you into clicking suspicious links or providing personal information.
A helpful tip to spot a scam:
Any email that comes from MHTC will always come from an address ending in @mhtcinc.com. If you receive a message from an address like @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, @hotmail.com, or any other non-MHTC domain, it's not from us.  Please know that email addresses can also be spoofed to look like a valid email address.
We recommend carefully checking the sender's email address and avoid clicking on any links or downloading attachments from suspicious messages.
Other items to consider when evaluating a message as a scam:
  • Asking for sensitive information (personal information, passwords, etc)
  • Links that do not match the domain (hover over them only, do not click, to view the destination of the link)
  • Random misspellings
  • Lack of personalization/incorrect personalization
  • A generic salutation, usually without relevant contact information
  • Language that attempts to panic the recipient
Your safety and trust are extremely important to us. When in question or you are ever unsure about an email, do not click any links, simply reach out to MHTC directly: 608-437-5551 or support@mhtc.net
